D'Angelo vows 'path of destruction' for NXT title
Tony D’Angelo challenges for the NXT Championship in a fatal four-way match at Stand & Deliver on Saturday night against champion Joe Hendry, Ricky Saints and Ethan Page. The former leader of The Family returns to title contention after a year away, declaring himself on a "path of destruction." D’Angelo seeks his first NXT Championship reign.
Nearly a year ago at Stand & Deliver, stablemate Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo betrayed D’Angelo. The Family disbanded in July, and D’Angelo returned to action in December with a new look. "You can’t put all your faith and your trust in others," D’Angelo said in an interview with Fox News Digital. "You got to go with your gut." He dispatched Cutler James and then Dion Lennox at Vengeance Day.
D’Angelo holds one NXT North American Championship, two NXT Tag Team Championships and one Heritage Cup.
He previously challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT title at Stand & Deliver in Philadelphia but fell short.
Stand & Deliver airs at 7 p.m. ET Saturday from The Factory in St. Louis, Missouri, on YouTube. D’Angelo feels he holds the advantage in the match.
