Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, 23, made a 75-foot three-pointer in the third quarter during his team's 135-120 win over the Dallas Mavericks on March 18, 2026, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.[1][2]
Kuminga grabbed a rebound under the Hawks' basket with about five seconds left in the quarter, took one dribble and threw what appeared to be a pass across the court to teammate Jock Landale under the rim. The ball arced into the Mavericks' basket instead.[3]
The shot was the longest by a Hawks player in the NBA play-by-play era since 1997-98 and the sixth-longest overall in that period, according to Elias Sports Bureau. The previous Hawks mark was a 63-foot basket by Jason Terry on January 5, 2000.[3]
Kuminga reacted with surprise, placing his hands on his head after the basket. He finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Dyson Daniels scored 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while Jalen Johnson added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The victory marked the Hawks' 11th straight win, positioning them as the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta's last streak of 11 or more games came during their franchise-record 19 consecutive victories in the 2014-15 season.[4]
The Mavericks have lost 11 of their last 13 games and stand at 23-47.
