Bruno Fernandes, Nico O'Reilly Win Premier League Season Awards
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named Premier League Player of the Season. The 31-year-old midfielder received the award after leading United back into the Champions League. Manchester City academy graduate Nico O'Reilly won the Young Player of the Season award.
Fernandes recorded eight goals and 20 assists in the league. He became the seventh United player to win the award and the first since Nemanja Vidic in 2011. The Portuguese international finished ahead of Arsenal players David Raya, Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice, along with Manchester City's Erling Haaland, Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White and Brentford's Igor Thiago.
O'Reilly, 21, made 34 senior appearances for City across several positions. He beat nominees including Rayan Cherki, Eli Junior Kroupi, Mateus Fernandes, Lewis Hall, Michael Kayode, Kobbie Mainoo and Alex Scott. The midfielder earned a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19 across three host countries with the final at New York New Jersey Stadium.
Fernandes will now prepare for Portugal's World Cup campaign. United manager Michael Carrick will oversee the club's summer transfer activity.
